ACU
BRITISH VET MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS
JUNE 1ST & 2ND 2024
@TODDINGTON MX
LU5 6HE
WHAT IS IT?
After a hugely succesful innaugural event in 2023 the ACU Vets British Championships weekend returns to the Luton And District MCC track of Toddington on June 1st and 2nd.

A 2 day festival of racing dedicated to veteran (vet) riders of all ages and skill levels. There is a range of age based and skill based race classes to choose from with the bragging rights of being an ACU British Champion up for grabs for the best of the best in each age group.
All elements of the event have been designed to suit vet racers, from the track choice and preparation to the off track entertainment. Our focus is on making the most enjoyable and memorable event possible for the vet racers and the spectators that attend.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This race meeting is for anyone over the age of 30 who can race a motocross bike. We have race classes based on age and skill level. Each race class will get its own race and classification. This ensures you are racing against people of a similar age and skill level to yourself, which makes the racing more enjoyable for everyone.

We want to encourage all vet dirtbike riders to come have a go so whether you are an expert level racer at the top of your game or someone that hasn't raced for 20 years then we have a race for you. (just not the same race..)
HOW DOES IT WORK
There are 4 ACU British Championship classes
+30 (for riders between the ages of 30 and 39)
+40 (for riders between the ages of 40 and 49)
+50 (for riders between the ages of 50 and 59)
+60 (for riders over the age of 60)

And there will be the following support classes
+30 Novice (for riders between the ages of 30 and 39)
+30 Inter (for riders between the ages of 30 and 39)
+40 Novice (for riders between the ages of 40 and 49)
+40 Inter (for riders between the ages of 40 and 49)
+50 Novice (for riders between the ages of 50 and 59)
+50 Inter (for riders between the ages of 50 and 59)
+60 Inter/Novice (for riders over the age of 60)

Each class will get 1 timed qualifying practice and 5 races across the 2 days . (*We may do 6 races with best 5 to count to the overall result tbc*)

Some classes may be combined depending on entry numbers but each class will get its own dedicated gate drop and race its own race

The top 6 competitors in all classes will be awarded a Vet Motocross Championships trophy and will have a top 6 riding number reserved for them in that class for the following year. (other than the top 3 in the novice and inter classes who will have to move up a class the following year.)

There are no restrictions on the age of bikes but modern bikes are probably an advantage. You will need to hold a current ACU Competition Licence or a pay for an ACU one event licence when you book in.
THE TRACK
With this being a race meeting for Vet riders of all skill levels we wanted to make sure that the track we selected would be enjoyable, challenging and safe for all our racers. Toddington Motocross track is a traditional motocross track on the side of hill next to the J12 of the M1.
The track is the home venue for the Luton and District Motorcycle club and has been in existence for around 20 years. The fast flowing track has a mixture of soils types, some parts are clay based , some loamy, and some parts are sandy, this combined with hill sections, some fun but safe jumps and long lap make it an ideal track for the British Vet Championships.
Our track crew will be working closely with the Luton and District Club track team in advance of the meeting to create the best layout for good flowing racing. The track will be well prepared watered and groomed before and during each days racing to make sure the track is always in an enjoyable condition to race on.
